Training

Sam is a PMA®-CPT through Polestar Pilates. She acquired her Pilates certification under the guidance of Kim Gibilisco, in 2016. Through her training, Sam has studied and taught Pilates in Miama Florida at the Polestar Headquarters. This expericence allowed her to assist with comprehensive examinations and teaching alongside Polestar founder Brent Anderson. Most recently Sam has continued her studies through Anatomy Trains: Body Reading and Deb Goodman's Pilates Through Pregnancy. In addition to seeing personal clients throughout NYC, Sam currently teaches for Fort Pilates and Streamline, both located in Brooklyn NY.

Philosophy

I approach movement as a way to awaken and recharge. Through my dance and pilates training I walk a line between intentful methodical flow and creative energizing moves. Exercise should not be a chore! As an instructor, my mission is to instill functional movement patterns while keeping your mind engaged. It is invigorating to grow strong while also gaining an awareness of how you move in the world. In our sessions, I will use pilates vocabulary to address your individual bodily needs—so whether you are looking for a good workout or trying to heal an injury my fusion of breath, mobilization and strength training will leave you feeling empowered.

Locations

I am always available to see new private clients. Until further notice, I am conducting all sessions through zoom. If group classes are more your vibe, I also teach online group classes through Fort Pilates .
